Dr. Hui Tang - President and founder of Innervo Technology. He has more than ten years of experience on development of assistive devices for sensory substitution and rehabilitation. Dr. Tang held academic positions as an assistant professor at University of Missouri-Columbia and an associate professor at Lake Superior State University, after he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University. His research areas included biomedical instrumentation, BioMEMS, and rehabilitative engineering. He had research projects on electrical stimulation of various body locations, including the fingertip, the palate, and the lips. He was a research member at Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, and his pioneer work on oral tactile interfaces for two-way tactile communication was recognized as superior performance by US Army Research Laboratory. Dr. Tang has 16 publications in international journals and conferences. Before he came to the United States, he worked as an electrical engineer and then a software engineer for four years after he received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Science and Technology of China.
